RAP RUNNING

As the name suggests, you run down a near-vertical cliff face from the top to the bottom in a safe and controlled environment. It’s the same as abseiling but with a twist! Rap running involves facing forwards rather than backwards, so a very different and unique kind of thrill. Come and try it out for yourself!

DESCRIPTION

Are you an adrenaline seeker? If so keep reading. Our Rap running is 100% AWESOME

At the point when your feet are on the edge, and you are looking at the ground 30 metres below with nothing separating you but thin air, you may think “what the heck am I doing?” This thought has popped into many heads – but once you start descending and get used to the feeling of running down a near vertical cliff, you’ll be running back to the top for another go, and getting faster each time.

You are attached to 2 ropes, your abseil line and a safety line which is controlled by your instructor should you get a little too excited!

It’s a great way to spend a few hours whilst learning some new skills along the way. Rap running in a safe and controlled environment with experienced guides is a fantastic way to face your fear of heights and experience the thrill of running down a cliff.

Once we are all kitted up in harnesses and helmets we will have a talk about safety and demonstrate how to forwards abseil correctly, after which it will be time to hit the rock for your first attempt at rap running. Woo hoo!!!

Okay, now it’s time to stand on the edge. It’s all about mind over matter! If you gather the courage to travel down at speed, it’s a real adrenaline rush. You’ll be running back to the top for another go, and be getting faster each time.

In between turns, take in the breathtaking scenery of the You Yangs Regional Park and the surrounding areas.
